Gunshots reported near Dundas St. hotel, London police find pellet gun

A pellet gun has been recovered after reports of gunshots near a hotel in east London, Ont., drew a heavy police presence Wednesday afternoon.

London police said the gunshots were reported shortly after 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Police initially said that they discovered evidence of shots being fired near the Travelodge Hotel along Dundas Street between Wavell Street and Speight Boulevard.

In an update, police confirmed that the damage was caused by a pellet gun. Police add that they have recovered a pellet gun but no arrests have been made.

Dundas Street between Wavell Street and Speight Boulevard was closed for nearly two hours as part of the investigation. While the section of road has reopened, the investigation is ongoing.
