UPDATE: Man pleads guilty to manslaughter in death of Monica Burns

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – A man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a Saskatchewan woman. Todd Daniel McKeaveney, 38, was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

The body of Monica Burns was found on a snowmobile trail in a remote location northwest of Prince Albert on Jan. 17.

Police say there is no indication Burns and McKeaveney knew each other.

On Wednesday, police released pictures of two rugs found with her body. They have not said if the release of that information led to the arrest of McKeaveney.

Police say Burns’ family has been cooperative and understanding during the investigation.

McKeaveney is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert provincial court on Friday.
