REGINA – In one of the tightest races in the province NDP candidate Erin Weir edged out Conservative candidate Trent Fraser to become the new MP for the Regina-Lewvan riding.
Weir came out on top against Conservative candidate Trent Fraser, Liberal candidate Louis Browne, Green Party candidate Tamela Friesen and Libertarian candidate Wojciech Dolata.

This is a new seat created from the Regina-specific areas of Palliser (which elected Conservative MP Ray Boughen by 2.3 per cent in 2011) and Regina-Lumsden-Lake Centre (which elected Conservative MP Tom Lukiwski by 17 per cent).

This riding is one of the two urban only ridings in Regina and all five of the candidates would have become a first time MP.
The riding boundaries are West Regina which encompasses everything west of Albert Street south of Victoria Avenue, and everything west of Pasqua Avenue north of it.
