SASKATOON – A SaskCountry Christmas showcase takes place Wednesday in Saskatoon and will feature musicians from Samara Yung, Jay Semko, Amy Nelson among others.

The event is for a good cause, with proceeds going to the Saskatoon Crisis Nursery.

“Every year we get partial funding from the government but we also have to fundraise some money. This year our budget to fundraise is $180,000,” said Collette Allen, from the crisis nursery.

“And we’re still looking at the $40,000 range of money we have to raise and this event is going to be a huge contributor to that.

The concert takes place at 7:30 p.m. at the Mayfair United Church.
