The City of Calgary said it has received a total of 70 noise complaints about various tents and events across the city during the first three days of this year’s Calgary Stampede.
They include 40 noise complaints concerning the Cowboys Music Festival, compared with 39 during the same period of time last year.
The city has also received 15 noise complaints about the Badlands Music Festival, compared to just six at this time last year.
Other noise complaints include one for the National Saloon, five for Whiskey Rose and one for Mexifest.

The city says Community Safety Peace Officers are out each night taking noise readings in nearby residential locations.
On Sunday, night a ticket was issued to organizers of the Badlands Music Festival for exceeding their allowable maximum decibel limit.
However, the city said the noise readings from the Cowboys Music Festival have so far been below their allowable limit, as prescribed in their Noise Exemption Permit.
Last year, the city said it received 225 noise complaints during the entire Stampede, with Cowboys being the subject of 125 of those complaints.
The large number of complaints prompted city council to make some changes to the city’s noise bylaw, including reducing the allowable noise levels.
So what? Being in receipt of a complaint is not a validation of that complaint.
The whiners are alive & well I see!!
Ummmmm for those complaining about noise levels during Stampede….Think your in the wrong City 🤔 Go to Ottawa where you can complain about Truckers fighting for your FREEDOM! I think Ralph Klein set up FREE bus rides for whining bitches…..Adios…..YEEEEEEHAWWWWWW MFers 🤠 Kim Townsend
It’s only for 10 days, lots of benefits for people and the city.
Lighten up. Other things to worry about.
First Edmonton now Calgary, Alberta’s puzzy cities.
So, a few Karens and Kens want to live close to downtown Calgary, the Stampede Grounds and other entertainment areas but they don’t want noise…hmm. They also know the Calgary Stampede runs for 10 days every July, which brings in thousands of tourists and tourism dollars. However, these malcontents don’t want noise. How about if you don’t like noise, move to a rural area. I am tired of our governments always catering to the chronic complainers.
There was a time that Calgarians just knew it was the Stampede and lived with the noise. Everyone knows there is noise during the stampede in that part of Calgary especially. It is part of the city & the generations before would simply choose a differnt neighborhood to live in – period… As we “progress” through time however, people get their feelings hurt pretty fast over nothing much. This is the Law of Entropy in effect – while the majority cater to a that same confused fringe minority.
Big deal the stampede is 10 days, meanwhile we get sonically assaulted EVERY day from early morning to late evening by super noisy aircraft pounding away at our neighborhood.
200 purple-hairs that never participate, controlling a city of 1.6MM. Beyond pathetic!

Global, stick your censorship up your you know what.
Wow. Calgary. You sure know how to put a seat belt on during what used to be the greatest outdoor show on earth. What’s next. No live livestock. Ai cows and horses only. And the riders will be playing from the box seats via vr headset and controller. *Said with fingers over nostrils. In a fun police accent.
It’s just because there are less cowboys in Calgary these days.
For the whole 10 days of stampede why cant these residents suck it up and tolerate the fun? By the way whiners, you knew where you were buying and exactly what it entailed every year in July.
