Victim identified after submerged vehicle recovered near Kinley

KINLEY, Sask. – RCMP are releasing the name of a Saskatoon man who died near Kinley, Sask. Henryk Wieczorek, 56, died after a vehicle became submerged upside down Saturday night .

An eastbound truck with two occupants lost control and went off the road at a bridge where Eagle Creek meets Highway 14. Mounties also say road conditions were icy at the time.

A 27-year-old woman from Turtleford, Sask. was able to escape the vehicle.

The Saskatoon Fire Department’s dive team was called in to connect a cable to the undercarriage of the vehicle. The victim and the vehicle were recovered.

RCMP and the North Battleford collision reconstruction unit are investigating the crash.
