Escape short-lived for youth from Saskatoon’s Kilburn Hall

SASKATOON – A young offender’s bid for freedom was short-lived. The 16-year-old youth escaped from open custody at Kilburn Hall in Saskatoon just before 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

He was seen running away from the facility located in the 1300-block of Kilburn Avenue.

Saskatoon police were notified of the escape and captured the youth within 30 minutes.

He is being held at Saskatoon police headquarters and is expected to appear in provincial court Thursday morning.
