Stabbing in DTES leaves one man dead ; Vancouver police investigating

UPDATE: Vancouver Police say  34-year-old Dennis Sleightholme of Vancouver has been charged with second-degree murder following a homicide on the Downtown Eastside on Aug. 8. The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Dominic Boateng.

Police are investigating a deadly stabbing in East Vancouver Saturday night.

Just after 6 p.m. police arrived at East Hastings and Main Street and found one man suffering from a stab wound.

The victim was taken to hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The 47-year-old victim is known to police and investigators say he appears to have been targeted.

No arrests have been made in the case, and police say the victim’s name is not being released at this time.

The incident follows two separate stabbings in Vancouver and Burnaby on Friday night that sent four men to hospital.
