RCMP investigate suspicious death in Red Deer

EDMONTON – Red Deer RCMP are working with the Calgary Major Crimes Unit to investigate the suspicious death of a middle-aged man who was dropped off at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre Saturday night.

Around 9:30 p.m., the man was left at the hospital by unknown individuals and pronounced dead shortly after, RCMP said Sunday.

Police were searching for a 1998 grey Jeep Grand Cherokee, which has since been located.

Police are also looking to identify the driver and any passengers in the vehicle.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday. Police have not released the identity of the man who died.
