A couple in Bridgenorth, Ont., can now officially celebrate their August lottery win of more than $708,000.
Joseph and Jane Jardine purchased the winning Lottario ticket at Causeway Variety on Robinson Road in Ennismore. The ticket for the Aug. 12 draw earned them $708,536.80.
They also won an additional $2 on an Encore draw on the ticket.

However, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) launched a review of the win since Jane’s sisters are employees at an OLG affiliate store. As a result, the prize fell under the definition of an “insider win” which includes requires several verification reviews and a 30-day waiting period.
On Tuesday, the OLG officially congratulated the couple on their lottery win.
