Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the area, warning of possible heavy snowfall late Thursday night into Friday morning.
The national weather agency says rain is expected to develop Thursday as a strong low-pressure system approaches the area.
Although they are uncertain how much snow the area will get, some areas could receive in excess of 15 centimetres.
In addition, strong and gusty northeast winds to 60 km/h may result in areas of blowing snow and very poor visibility.

“This is the type of storm, with the wind and the heaviness of the snow, it could cause some power outages,” said Global News Chief Meteorologist Anthony Farnell. “Just keep that in mind, you may be without power Friday morning.”
The statement is in effect for London, Parkhill, Strathroy, Komoka and Middlesex County.
Conditions are expected to improve Friday morning.
