Woman, 74, dies of injuries after being struck by vehicle in Paris, Ont.

Brant OPP are investigating the cause of a fatal collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Tuesday morning in Paris, Ont.

In a statement Wednesday, police said they were called to the scene on Silver Street in Paris,  northwest of Brantford, around 5:45 a.m. for a report of a female pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

Investigators have determined that a 74-year-old woman was crossing Silver Street at Oak Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle being driven by a 31-year-old Brant County-area man, police said.

The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries, police said. Her identity has not been released.

Few other details are known at this point. Members of the OPP’s Technical Traffic Collision Investigators were called to the scene to investigate.
