SASKATOON – A man was Tasered late Sunday evening after Saskatoon police say he assaulted an officer.
Police were initially called to a disturbance at a convenience store around 11:30 p.m. in the 100-block of Ruth Street.
As officers arrived, they saw the man in question enter a bar across the street.

Police say officers followed the man inside where a struggle ensued resulting in the alleged assault.
The 32-year-old man then attempted to disarm an officer. At that point, police say a second officer successfully fired the Taser to gain control of the situation.
The suspect was taken to hospital as a precaution.
He is now facing charges including assaulting a police officer, attempting to disarm a police officer and possession of a controlled substance.
His name has not been released.
As in all cases where a Taser is used, a report will be submitted for review by the Use of Force Review Board and a further report submitted to the Saskatchewan Police Commission.
