Severe storms in the U.S. Midwest have left at least six people dead and caused widespread damage.
Illinois was hardest hit by the string of tornadoes and intense thunderstorms, with all five deaths and dozens of injuries reported in the state.

Injuries, extensive damage and power outages are also reported in six other states.
